Overview

Build, own and prosecute a sales plan for the Descartes Labs products within Agriculture.  Our opportunity is both domestic and international and spans enterprises and insurance companies.  Candidates will build a target list and follow a traditional sales effort, but also have a chance to influence the product roadmap by uncovering adjacent opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITES
Construct and evaluate sales opportunities, performing across a broad range of agriculture enterprise and insurance markets
Manage a sales pipeline and process
Work closely with marketing and other sales leads within the organization to ensure we are optimizing our opportunity and effectively building demand for and satisfaction with our products
Acquire and maintain an in-depth and intimate understanding for our product’s value in the market and its relevance to our customers
Understand the competitive landscape to navigate and overcome sales objections and represent the voice of the customer back to internal colleagues and stakeholders
Attend conferences, trade shows or other industry-related events to help strengthen and increase awareness of product to existing and prospective clients
Build relationships and generate future business using a consultative approach that provides customers with a clear ROI understanding of Descartes products over what may be extended sales cycles
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
3-5+ years of experience in data or technology quota carrying sales (professional sales training is desirable)
A confident, motivated, competitive, and innovative mindset with a strong work ethic and an appetite for reward
Demonstrated experience managing large Enterprise sales cycles from prospecting to close, patiently overcoming objections, using tools and resources to demonstrate ROI and persisting through long sales cycles
Ability to strategically think and analyze the needs of clients
Excel at presentation, sales, interview and communication skills with a natural curiosity
Knowledge of the agriculture, AgTech and crop insurance markets
Familiarity with machine learning or data driven models and an ability to explain our products
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
