Overview

Orbital Insight, Inc. is currently seeking a Sales Engineer to join our East Coast Sales team.  In this role, you will be expected to educate, support and seek out feedback from clients with the aim of enhancing the product development and sales cycles to help Orbital Insight best deploy its technology.
To succeed in this role you will need to be entrepreneurial and client focused with a background in data analysis.  You will need to be comfortable managing the expectations of prospects and clients across multiple verticals such as Finance, Energy, Insurance, etc.  You must be capable of working within a highly motivated team to drive business forward as you will be working closely with all facets of the organization, in particular Sales, Engineering, Development and Product Management.

This position will be based out of our New York office and report to the VP and Head of Global Sales.

Job Duties
Engaging clients to discuss our data solutions, distill their needs and drive the feedback discovery process to contribute to product development
Leveraging a deep understanding of both our data and how it is often consumed to educate our clients on how they can best deploy our data to fit their needs
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of sales materials to deliver to clients to support the engagement and education process.
Mining our data for value by creating and publishing “insights” and other research-like analyses
Quantitative sales support
Skills & Qualifications
1-3 years of experience working as an analyst at a bank or buy-side financial institution
Bachelor’s degree in STEM or data-heavy discipline such as economics, statistics, etc. encouraged
Professional experience drawing conclusions from data to aid decision making or consuming data in a commercial setting
Strong research and data analysis skills, meticulousness and attention to detail are required
Strong capabilities in excel, R, or other data-analysis software desired
Sales experience is a plus
